Epilepsy Units Ribbon Cutting and Inauguration in the News!

Congratulations to the members of the Pancretan Association of America (PAA) for their outstanding contributions to the completion of the first Epilepsy Unit on the island of Crete. This project, made possible by a partnership between the PAA and the Region of Crete, is a remarkable example of philanthropic dedication. Their efforts, which have been widely recognized by news outlets in both the United States and Greece, have created a vital resource that will provide invaluable care to those affected by epilepsy.

Epilepsy Units Crete 2025

Inauguration of the Epilepsy Monitoring Units at the University of Heraklion

With a proud 90-year history of service, the Pancretan Association of America continues to transform healthcare in our homeland. In 2025, we launched a historic project: the first Epilepsy Monitoring Units at the University of Heraklion. Serving all of Greece, these units provide critical care to those in need—entirely free of charge.

"Congratulations to our amazing philanthropic team, Evangelia Hobitakis and Bianca Pigounakis, PAA Executive Vice President Niko Kastrinakis, the Governor of Crete and all of you and our members for making this project happen in record time." (Summer of 2025)
PAA President, Diane Kounalakis
